Bouchet & Barbero

Bouchet Model

The guitars of Robert Bouchet are among the rarest historically significant instruments. His work possessed a great deal of individualism among other qualities and his influence is responsible for not only the French school, but also largely the Granada school of guitar construction. I am fortunate to have clients with excellent examples of his work, having repaired, restored and brokered Bouchet guitars. This guitar, from 1955, is one of the finest guitars I have known. Interestingly enough, it predates his proprietary system of bracing the top, known as Bouchet bracing, and is, in fact, a fairly straight up Torres inspired model. However the sound is pure Bouchet, big and noble with great sustain and beauty. I chose this guitar for it’s sheer excellence and individual nature.
